Last weekend we continued our tour of National Trust properties. Kedleston Hall is a lovely 18th century mansion with huge grounds. Its a short distance from Derby so is fairly easy to get to.
On the bank holiday Monday we decided to take advantage of our new National Trust joint membership. Calke (been told its pronounced like Cork?) Abbey, also known as the un-stately home and country estate, is located in Ticknall, Derby. Short drive away from home for us.
With our little baby H on the way, Keith and I decided to join the National Trust. If you’re not familiar with it, its a charity founded in 1985 which does its best to look after coastline, forests, woods, historic houses, gardens, art collections, etc all across the United Kingdom.
