This weekend we visited the Potting Shed Café Restaurant for Keith’s godmother’s birthday celebration meal. There was 10 of us (8 adults and 2 under 2s). My mother-in-law booked it and from all accounts it was fairly easy to do.
The café/restaurant is situated in the Plant Pot Garden Centre in Lichfield.

As we’d only moved to Long Eaton in September we’re still struggling to wean ourselves off dining in the Nottingham city centre. However, as my husband knows quite a few people in Long Eaton we’re not short of recommendations! The Marina Cafe was recommended to us by my husband’s boss. Its situated at the Sawley Marina in Long Eaton.

In the middle of June I was struck by the need to go have afternoon tea. As we were walking about in the city centre I spotted the board outside Patisserie Valerie advertising their Afternoon Tea for 2. This little cafe is situated in the council house building.

We were in Kendal over the weekend as Keith’s childhood friend was getting married in Ambleside. The day of the wedding we’d decided to pop into Kendal to get some lunch (the wedding wasn’t till 3pm so we had loads of time to kill!). We stumbled upon Slate while trying to hide from the pouring rain!
