Victoria Peak tends to be one of the must see attractions of Hong Kong if only because of the great views (unless there’s really heavy fog like during our visit) and the novelty of riding up and down on the Peak Tram. Its really easy to get to using the MTR to get to Central and walking from there.
I’ve been to Hong Kong several times in my youth as it was a favoured destination of my mother who enjoys shopping. One of my earliest memories of Hong Kong was of a daytime cruise on a junk boat. As our trip back in May was to be my first trip back since I reached adulthood, and Keith’s first ever visit to Hong Kong, I was determined to book a cruise on a junk boat!
On our 2nd day in Singapore we took the MRT to the Chinatown station in order to visit the area known as Chinatown/Little India. This is because Chinese temples sit alongside Indian temples in this area.
On Day 1 of our trip to Singapore we visited Gardens by the Bay. Our interest was piqued upon seeing them on David Attenborough’s programme Wild City.
We went to the Royal Yacht Britannia straight from our hotel as we were staying at the Leith Waterfront Premier Inn. The yacht is at Ocean Terminal in Leith. The Hop On Hop Off Majestic Tour stops right out front of it.
We visited Palace of Holyroodhouse after we’d been to Edinburgh Castle. Its on the other end of the Royal Mile from the castle so its a pretty easy walk downhill to get to. You also walk past the Scottish Parliament on your way so you’ll know you’re on the right track if you see that!
One of the biggest sights to see in Edinburgh (in my opinion) is the Edinburgh Castle which is built on Castle Rock. The castle dominates a lot of the skyline so you won’t be able to miss it.
As we were in Edinburgh for 3 full days, we’d planned the trip quite carefully to try to maximise our visit. As mentioned in previous posts, we’d done Inchcolm Island and South Queensferry and a drinks night out on the Saturday. For Sunday and Monday however, we’d decided we wanted to properly see the sights of Edinburgh. On my brother-in-law’s suggestion (he’d been to Edinburgh the weekend before with his girlfriend), we decided to get a Hop On Hop Off ticket.
On Saturday the 16th of April 2016 we drove over to the Hawes Pier in South Queensferry, Edinburgh to catch our cruise on the Maid of the Forth to Inchcolm Island.
When we were looking for things to see and do in St Lucia, I came across a Real St Lucia Tours on the internet. A quick enquiry was answered very quickly and efficiently with a lot of information like the pricing, what it entailed and what we could choose to see. We really liked the fact that you could have a private tour! I quickly booked us in for the tour 8 months before we were due to go!
Please bear in mind that some of their packages/tours may have changed since we went in May 2015.
