We recently went to Cornwall for a family holiday and stayed in a cottage near Newquay. On the Sunday we wanted a fairly low key day so we went to Trerice which is near the cottage.Continue reading “Trerice, Cornwall (National Trust)”
On our family holiday to Cornwall we booked a self-catered cottage. We were looking for somewhere that was kid friendly and self-catered and ticked many many boxes such as Sky, wifi, washing machine, etc. I found the cottage that ticked all these boxes and more on Sykes Cottages. Wheal Honey!Continue reading “Wheal Honey, Cornwall”
Over the Easter bank holiday weekend we went to Hardwick Hall for a family day out in the amazing good weather (for the UK). We’re trying to really get our money’s worth with our membership as you can probably tell!Continue reading “Hardwick Hall, Derbyshire (National Trust)”
Yesterday we took the train to Birmingham to visit the Sea Life Centre! We had the 2-4-1 vouchers you get off the cereal box and we found out they recently started fostering a pair of seals!
Over the weekend I hosted a joint baby shower for my 2 sister in laws at Jamesons’s as Baby H is due 2 cousins within a month of each other (both mine and Keith’s brothers are expecting). We chose Sheffield as it was a nice middle meet up.
So it’s been absolute ages since we actually made use of our National Trust membership since the arrival of Baby H made things quite difficult for us to go out and about in the cold weather (she doesn’t like the cold like her mummy). However it’s now mild enough that we feel comfortable heading out! We decided on a day out at Shugborough. We’d been back in August 2010 when it was being managed by the Council so it looked quite different back then.
We went to The Wheatsheaf a few Sundays ago to have a pre-Christmas meal with some friends and their families. Our friends had been and they really like it there so we gave it a go.
Last weekend we took Baby H on a day trip to Meadowhall as I needed to visit the Apple Store. While we waited for my repair to be completed we decided to have some lunch at Coal Grill & Bar.
The Cod Scallops is originally a fish and chips shop based in Wollaton in Nottingham. However, not too long ago Long Eaton got our very own branch! They were actually 3rd in the 2016 National Fish and Chips Awards and a Finalist in the 2018 awards.
At the weekend we visited Lagan with some friends of ours for a late dinner. Lagan has only been open since the first May bank holiday weekend and is where the old post office used to be on Chilwell Road in Beeston. It is a branch of Mewar Haveli in Radcliffe (we’ve never been but have been told its very good) that serves Indian tapas!
