Today we were wandering the high street in Long Eaton and spotted the sign for Cleaver Coffee Co. The coffee shop is situated in Butchers Bar and Steakhouse. They serve cake, coffees, tea, breakfast, lunch, that sort of thing.
We decided to have some brunch since we popped in around 11am. I ordered the Cleaver Homemade Pancake Stack (£4.50) and added Berries and Creme Fraiche (extra £1.50) along with a Hot Chocolate (£3.00). My husband ordered the Cleaver French Toast (£4.00) and added 2 rashers of crispy bacon (extra £1.50) along with a Flat White (£2.65).
The drinks arrived fairly quickly. The hot chocolate was lovely and smooth while my husband said the coffee was really good.
The food arrived shortly after. It was ok but we were quite disappointed by the portions considering the price we paid. I’m not sure how 2 pancakes and 2 pieces of french toast cost more than £4! I’ve had pancakes at the Pudding Pantry in Nottingham for around the same price and they give you 4 rather than just 2.
Service was ok but based on the overpriced food I don’t think we’ll be hurrying back as we can get much better food and portions for a similar price elsewhere.
