Lewinnick Lodge is a sister restaurant to The Plume of Feathers so we thought we’d book it as our final evening meal out. Again it was easy to book it online and request a high chair.
The restaurant is attached to a boutique hotel on a cliff in Newquay so it makes for some really stunning views. As it was a Friday evening it was very busy. We were however shown quite promptly to our table by the window. They brought over the high chair and we got settled.
Our drinks and food orders were taken fairly promptly. Again we were given a Dinner Special (DS) menu and a normal menu.
For starters we had the Thai Style Crispy Pork (DS) and Pulled Moroccan Lamb. The pork was lovely and crispy as per the name. It was quite a heavy starter though so it kept me going until the mains arrived. The lamb was tender and melt-in-your mouth delicious. Out of the 2 we both preferred the lamb.
For mains we had the Cornish Crab Linguine and 10oz Ribeye Steak. The linguine was delicious and the seafood tasted lovely and fresh. The steak was cooked medium rare as Keith had requested which is brilliant and very unusual since many restaurants tend to cook it however they feel like.
Due to how heavy the food was we both decided against a dessert. With 2 courses each and a pint of Pepsi and a pint of bitter shandy the bill came up to approximately £70 which again was acceptable considering the quality of the food and the gorgeous views. Another one I’d highly recommend!
1. Highchair – available on request
2. Changing – unsure as we did not use it
