We visited Rye with some friends for breakfast on the Sunday the 4th of December 2016. Its a cafe I’d heard a lot about on Facebook courtesy of some Beeston groups I follow. As our friends live in Beeston we thought we’d try it!
From the outside it looks like very modern and “hip” as the youngsters might say! It serves breakfasts, sandwiches, evening main meals, puddings, 200 Degrees coffees and whole leaf tea, craft beers, cocktails and wines.
It runs specific themed nights from Monday to Friday as well.
It was quite busy when we visited but we were seated quite promptly by a smiling member of staff. The 4 of us decided on having 3 of the full english breakfasts and 1 full english veggie breakfast.
The full english breakfast was £7.50 and comprised of 2 local pork sausages, bacon, poached egg, hash brown, baked beans, mushrooms, tomato and toast. The full english veggie breakfast was £6.50.
Only thing that disappointed me was that most places tend to offer a choice of egg with your full english rather than one type of egg. However they readily left off specific things off that I’d asked not to be included (baked beans). I’d also ordered a real belgian hot chocolate with my meal. It was a pretty decent breakfast and we all enjoyed the food and drink.
I do wish we lived in Beeston or had a Rye in Long Eaton as I’d quite happily frequently return as the ambience, service and food and drink was very lovely. It would definitely make a lovely weekend brunch venue.
