While we were in Edinburgh in April my husband found Mimi’s on Tripadvisor. We decided it would be somewhere to go for brunch on our last day there as it wasn’t a long walk from the Premier Inn in Leith.
Upon entering you’re greeted by a display of party supplies which you can actually purchase from the Bakehouse. The bakehouse also has some rather interesting decor.
Our orders were taken quite promptly once we’d decided what we wanted.
The drink on the left is mine. Its a hot chocolate with some (from what I remember) orange chocolate shavings and Kahlua (?). It was delicious. That’s Keith’s latte on the right. They were lovely and warming for what was quite a cold April day.

Keith really enjoyed his Croque Mimi as it was simple but delicious. My french toast was very delicious and the maple syrup I added was brilliant. The sausages were the best sausages I’ve ever had. I would have loved to have more!
The service was warm and friendly and quite prompt. It seems to be a great place to sit and have a chat for a few hours and I wish they’d open one up in Nottingham. If we’re ever back in Edinburgh I’d definitely make another visit!

It’s definitely worth a visit! I wish we’d gone at the start of our trip so we could have gone back again for some of their cakes!
