Boucan Restaurant is situated on the Rabot Estate in Soufriere, Saint Lucia. This is the estate where they actually harvest cocoa for use in the Hotel Chocolat chocolate! They have a hotel and restaurant here and we were told by my husband’s colleagues that we simply had to try the food at this restaurant!
My enterprising husband decided to book us a reservation one evening during our honeymoon to give it a go! He did this via email as we were able to use the resort’s wifi (please see my Ti Kaye resort post for more details on our resort). The view from the restaurant is of the Petit Piton mountain (one of two Piton mountains).

On arrival we had a short explanation of the restaurant’s menu and given some lovely bread with accompaniments. We were also given an amuse-bouche before our starters arrived.

For our meal we had the following:

The food was delicious. It included chocolate and cocoa in it in innovative ways that sounded like they may not work but actually worked really well! My only complaint was that the duck was a little too salty for my tastes. I wasn’t able to finish the duck due to the saltiness but the mash potato was gorgeous. Keith really enjoyed his food as well!
The service was brilliant and without fault. The view was beautiful and the ambience was perfect for a romantic dinner for 2. There were other diners there but it didn’t feel intrusive to have people there due to the general atmosphere.
If we were ever in St Lucia again this would definitely be on our list to visit.
